COMPLETE CORE - ATHLETICS & FITNESS

Janeene Spiess

Welcome to Complete Core Athletics & Fitness. My  fitness journey started many years ago as a competitive figure skating athlete as well as a previous member of the Canadian National Team for Synchronized Skating. Although these years were spent with numerous hours of structured ice time, sport specific training and dance/ballet training I found great joy being in the gym and challenging my body and strength to it's maximum threshold. My passion is competitive sports, especially ones in the ice box. Whether I am evaluating, competing or coaching High Performance Sport will always be where my heart lies.

Over the years my fitness needs and requirements changed drastically as I was no longer a competitive athlete but now a mom of 3 that was determined to keep the same body and strength that I had when I training 10 years ago. While I was pregnant with my third child I started attending more group fitness classes and found the group atmosphere to be inviting, encouraging and bringing back the inner competitor in me......it was at this point that I knew this was what I was meant to do.

I felt from day one that I had a lot of offer this industry with my sporting background, drive and passion....it was with this that Complete Core Athletics & Fitness was started in June 2009. After two years of offering group classes, personal training and sport specific/high performance athletic training to many participants and athletes the birth of Beat Boxz™ was created and my business route, goals and ambitions expanded once again!

My philosophy on life is if you are happy with you, if you respect, nourish and care for your body, if you stand proud, if you start something and give it your 100% all and if your acts of kindness can put a smile on a stranger's face then you are living a healthy and happy life. We are not all built to look like supermodels or have the strength of an ironman, nor is that what many of us want. What we want is to be healthy and happy, to be able to play with our kids without running out of breath, to have a fun game of football with our buddies and not leave with an injury, to go shopping and not leave angry because you are dissatisfied or to go to the doctors and have them hand you a clean bill of health.......that my friends is what the majority of us want.

Darlene Yost

Hi!  My name is Darlene Yost and I have been teaching Group Fitness classes since 1998.  I have taught everything from Step Aerobics, Bootcamp classes,  Strength and Resistance to Strollercise and most recently Spin classes!  I was born and raised just outside of Gibbons with my parents and younger brother.  I currently live just north of Bon Accord with my husband and 2 young children.

My interest in Group Fitness began in 1998 (I can't believe it's been SO long!!) when I started working part-time at a fitness facility while I was attending NAIT for my Business Management Diploma. I then became certified with AFLCA and the YMCA that year.  I began teaching group fitness classes at the YMCA, and then at the Dow Centennial Center when it opened in 2003.

I have taught men and women from the ages of 15 to 75!!  I LOVE IT!! Not only can I help people achieve their fitness goals, I have formed many lasting relationships. I am currently a stay-at-home mom and teach Group Fitness classes at various facilities throughout the week.  I am honoured that Janeene has asked me to be apart of her team and look forward to teaching with Complete Core Athletics & Fitness!

Jamie Hardy

Hello!  My name is Jamie Hardy and I have been teaching Group Fitness classes since 2006.  Over the years, I have taught a wide variety of classes including; bootcamp, cardio kickboxing, strength and resistance training, pre-natal, older adult, core conditioning, and circuit training.  I was born and raised in Drumheller, AB. When I graduated I moved to Lethbridge, AB where I obtained my Criminal Justice diploma.  After completing my diploma, I was hired on with the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Branch in Rocky Mountain House.  My husband, 19 month old daughter and I recently moved to Fort Saskatchewan and look forward to being part of the community!

Since I began working out, I have always loved group exercise classes and found the environment to be motivating and friendly.  SO….many group classes later, I thought “what a great job teaching group exercise classes would be, I could do two things I love; working out and motivating others!”  It was then that I decided to pursue my group exercise certification.  I began teaching classes in Stettler, AB and haven’t turned back!!

I am fully committed to my field and my clients, and am experienced and knowledgeable in many areas of fitness and health.  I love working with men and women, young and old, who want to get in shape, stay in shape, and carry on a healthy life-style.  I dedicate myself to helping individuals attain goals and maintain results while forming friendships at the same time!

Qualifications:
  • AFLCA - Certified Group Fitness Instructor: Portable Equipement 2006
  • First Aid/CPR

Ellen Whitson

Hi, I’m Ellen Whitson a Certified Fitness Instructor through Can Fit Pro. I have been working in the rehabilitation field helping injured workers for the past 7 years and I am so excited to blend my education with my passion for group fitness classes. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work on many specialized treatment programs teaching core stability classes, balance classes, implementing physiotherapy programs and treatment, instructing individual exercise, occupational and work conditioning programs. Professionally and personally I have seen the benefits of staying active, fit and healthy.

As a Mom with a 3 year old little boy and another one on the way I even love fitness classes for a “Night Out” in a fun and positive environment. I have loved attending group exercise classes and they have helped me to stay in shape, stay motivated and stay committed to my fitness goals.  Physically and mentally I keep coming back to group classes and I am so happy that now I am able to share my love and passion with other individuals. I hope that my participants will also find the enjoyment and benefits out of my classes as I have throughout my fitness journey. Thank you Janeene for encouraging me to follow my passion and asking me to be part of your team!

THE COMPLETE DIFFERENCE

We are pleased to offer you all a variety of fitness classes and training styles to suit the individual needs and goals of every participant in every class. Complete Core Athletics & Fitness provides cutting edge training systems, creative and innovated classes that are guaranteed to give you the results you are looking for all while allowing you a comfortable, friendly and fun atmosphere to do so! No two classes are ever the same and we take pride in giving our clients a challenging and rewarding workout each and every session!

For many of us fitness and health is just a way of life and we don't think twice about spending an hour or two in the gym everyday, nor do we need the encouragement to be there. However for many other's fitness and health is a challenge in itself and this is where I would like to say I play a huge role in the lives of so many people.

At Complete Core Athletics & Fitness we provide you with the opportunity of "FUNCTIONAL FITNESS". We don't pump weights and repeat the same movements over and over. We challenge the body with movements that mimic our everyday tasks by adding resistance via portable equipment and our own body weight! We work the body through multi-planar movements to challenge the core and create a stronger body to support us through the aging process and to create a healthier you on the inside. Now don't get me wrong....some of our classes are not for the weak, but we do provide a variable of modifications and levels for all participants so that each of you can get the best workout for your body.

We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust, give you the results you are wanting and deliver you the best service in the industry.
